Ian Datz - Photographer

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, photographer Ian Datz is known for his sharp, visual storytelling and visceral style. In his youth, he became immersed in the hip hop scene and soon moved to Los Angeles to focus on a career in Audio Engineering. With the recession that came in 2008 and the music industry changing, Ian realized he needed to take a different course. Within a few years, his obsession with photography and design manifested. This path led him to numerous new creative pursuits, an understanding and depth to his work, and constant opportunities to learn along the way. He loves to help people, strategize, and make photographs that draw out the true depth in his subjects' souls.

Ian’s interests in Cinema, Music, and Art reflects in his work. His eye for light and composition dictates his artistic flow - finding the most superb shots possible. Ian believes in inclusivity and attention to detail. Much of Ian’s work has focused on subcultures leading him to photograph street culture. He loves hearing people's stories and letting that energy drive his work. He is available for shoots and commissions.
